Abstract

Constructs six chimeric enzymes from two recombinant glucansucrases, dextransucrase S (DSRS) and dextransucrase 5 (DSRT5), by exchanging three substrate-binding regions in the N-terminal catalytic region. Effects of the regions on enzyme activity and the structures of the glucan products; Construction of chimeric DS genes; Preparation of glucansucrase chimeric enzymes.
