Expression Analysis of the VTC2 and VTC5 Genes Encoding GDP-L-Galactose Phosphorylase, an Enzyme Involved in Ascorbate Biosynthesis, in Arabidopsis thaliana.
The article presents a study which investigates the expression levels of both VTC2 and VTC5 gene encoding GDP-L-galactose phosphorylase, an enzyme involved in Ascorbate (AsA) Biosynthesis in Arabidopsis thaliana. The study used luciferase activity assay, RNA isolation, and bipyridyl method using microtitier plate reader. Results show that the transcript level of VTC2 and VTC5 have increased in parallel with AsA accumulation and VTC5 compensated on induced VTC2 transcription levels.
