Abstract

The article presents a study which examines the metabolic interactions between piperazine-based party pill drugs and other drugs metabolised by similar cytochrome P450 (CYP) isoenzymes. The study investigates the inhibitory impact of seven benzyl and phenyl piperazines through microbial incubation assays of probe surfaces for five CYP isoenzymes. The study reveals that the piperazine analogues have shown inhibitory activity against most isoenzymes tested.
