- Abstract
Objective: To explore the effect of diet therapy program guided by family nurses' diet therapy theory on overweight adult obese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods: From September 2022 to November 2022, 63 overweight or obese patients with type 2 diabetes were recruited in the community. They were randomly divided into a tea drinking group(n=32)and a diet therapy group (n=31). The tea drinking group was given Tartary buckwheat tea and regular diet health education. The diet therapy group was treated with personalized diet management rich in non - nutrients on the basis of the tea drinking group, that is, the family nurse diet therapy program. Body weight, body mass index, fasting blood glucose, glycosylated hemoglobin, fasting insulin, insulin resistance index, total cholesterol, triglyceride, high - density lipoprotein cholesterol, low - density lipoprotein cholesterol and diet management score of type 2 diabetes patients were measured before and after 42 days of intervention. Results: 1)Body weight and body mass index. After the intervention, the body weight and body mass index of the diet group were lower than those of the tea group(P<0. 05). 2)Indicators of glucose metabolism. Compared with those before intervention, the fasting blood glucose, fasting insulin, insulin resistance index and glycosylated hemoglobin in the food therapy group were decreased(P<0. 05), and the fasting blood glucose, fasting insulin and insulin resistance index in the tea drinking group were decreased(P<0. 05). After 42 days of intervention, the fasting blood glucose of the food therapy group was lower than that of the tea drinking group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0. 05). 3)Indicators of lipid metabolism. Compared with those before intervention, the total cholesterol, triglyceride and low - density lipoprotein cholesterol in the diet group decreased(P<0. 05), and the total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol in the tea group decreased(P< 0. 05). 4)Diet management. After 42 days of intervention, the scores of all dimensions and the total score of diet management in the diet therapy group were higher than those in the tea drinking group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0. 05). Conclusion: Diet therapy program for family nurses guided by the family nurse diet therapy theory can reduce the body weight, body mass index, fasting blood glucose, glycosylated hemoglobin, fasting insulin, insulin resistance index, total cholesterol, triglyceride and low - density lipoprotein cholesterol of overweight or obese patients with type 2 diabetes, and improve the diet management ability of patients with type 2 diabetes.
