Objective:To analyze the influencing factors and economic burden of nosocomial infection in bone tumor patients. Methods: The clinical data was collected from bone tumor patients that was in a tertiary grade A hospital from Jan 1, 2016 to Dec 31, 2018. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis were used to explore the influencing factors of nosocomial infection in bone tumor patients. By using the method of propensity score matching and marginal analysis, the economic loss caused by nosocomial infection was estimated. Results:Among 542 bone tumor patients, 43 patients had nosocomial infection and the infection rate was 7. 93%. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that ASA score≥3, incision drainage(>7 days), using glucocorticoid, pelvis tumor were the independent risk factors for nosocomial infection in bone tumor patients. The economic burden of bone tumor patients due to nosocomial infection was 34 226. 79 RMB(P<0. 05). The economic loss of hospital due to nosocomial infection was 182 500 RMB(M%=5%), 365 000 RMB(M%= 10%)and 547 500 RMB(M%=15%). Conclusions:Nosocomial infection brings huge economic burden to bone tumor patients and affects the hospital's economic income. Clinical medical staff should take effective prevention and control measures in time to reduce the incidence of nosocomial infection among high-risk groups.
