The article discusses the preliminary results of a 2010 field survey carried out to the territory surrounding the hill of Si'a in Qanawat, Syria. It notes that the survey involves the wine presses and surface pottery found in the area. The winery sites K1, K2 and K7 have disappeared as a result of extensive bulldozing and construction. It is concluded that the wineries in the area, with their size and capacity, were able to house something close to an industrial quarter for producing wine that is likely intended for export since the Byzantine period.
