Abstract

In this study, the authors compare the results of the tube coagulase test dog and rabbit plasmas for Staphylococcus aureus. Clot formation in dog was faster for dog at the mean of 2.38 hours versus 3.190 hours for rabbit. Staphylococcus isolates from bovine coagulated dog plasma faster than canine and human isolates. Isolates from bovine and human coagulated dog plasma faster than rabbit plasma.
