Abstract

The author explores the fundamental transformations that have been taken place in India since 1990s which had its genesis in the economic reforms, thus, unleashing the entrepreneurial abilities of the Indians. He notes that one of these transformations addresses the rise of the Indian consumer as a key driver of the country's growth. He also discusses the impact of the economic growth on the country's demand for better infrastructure and a spurt in consumption demand.
