"Misogynoir Transformed: Black Women's Digital Resistance" by Moya Bailey explores how black women have used social media and digital platforms to challenge and resist misogynoir, which refers to the racist misogyny experienced by black women in American visual and digital culture. The book analyzes the negative representation of black women in traditional media and the ways in which new digital media have provided platforms for black women to create their own positive representation. Bailey uses case studies and personal narratives to highlight the strategies and experiences of black trans, nonbinary, and cis women in fighting against misogynoir. While the book is engaging and well-researched, it does not include examples or references to women's digital resistance in continental Africa, which limits its scope.
