The article discusses the need for teachers to conduct systematic transition planning in order to ensure the success of their students as assistive technology (AT) users. To succeed in achieving such goal, teachers may seek aid from the Quality Indicators in Assistive Technology (QIAT) Consortium. Students should have the capability to use AT for independent functional skills and incorporate such skills in their daily tasks and routines. These skills are consisted of several areas including operational skills, social skills, and strategic skills.
