The article explores issues in the implementation of assistive technology (AT) which are caused by the information technology (IT) departments of schools. While U.S. schools provide AT needed by students with learning disabilities, sometimes the technology are not installed because the AT staff does not have administrative privileges and the IT personnel is the only person allowed to install the AT.
