Abstract

The author looks at the progress of the U.S. healthcare sector in mitigating exposure to secondhand smoke all over the country. Topics discussed include campaign in reducing health cases linked to secondhand smoke exposure since the release of the Surgeon General report "The Health Consequences of Involuntary Exposure to Tobacco Smoke," and laws and programs that reduce secondhand smoke exposure like the smoke-free law in New Orleans, Louisiana and the 1DayStand program at Trinity University.
