Abstract

The article discusses the role of the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). Topics include the three major ways in which the AHRQ's tools, resources and data improve the quality and safety of America's healthcare system, its work with providers in developing and implementing the Comprehensive Unit-based Safety Program (CUSP), and its family of data bases on the care provided to hospital patients in the U.S. known as the Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project.
