- Abstract
The article discusses recommendation from U.S. Public Health Service (PHS) in 1962 for community water systems to add fluoride to drinking water to prevent tooth decay. Topics discussed include the need to update the 1962 PHS recommendations on fluoridation as Americans have access to more sources of fluoride and recommendations from a panel of physicians, dental professionals and epidemiologists that community water systems use a single concentration of 0.7mg/L of fluoride in drinking water.
