- Title
Survival in the Profession: A Criterion for Selecting Teacher Trainees.
- Authors
Charters Jr., W. W.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the survival in the profession of teacher trainees in the U.S. Encouraging larger numbers of students to enter teacher training resolves the teacher shortage, in recent years. A table depicts the number of man-years in teaching from 1937-1947 based on data provided by the University of Illinois. Among professional educators, research shows males survive better than females. In the selection of candidates, the commitment of young students in teacher training can be used.
