Abstract

The article presents a reprint of Book XI entitled "Epipoliteia" of Plato's "The Republic," originally edited and published by German philologist Fritz Derselbe circa 1943. This lost book was purportedly uncovered by Soviet scholar Josiph Vissarionovich in 1937 while he was visiting a monastery in Armenia. It presents an English translation of a dialogue between Greek philosopher Socrates and a Stranger of Trier on topics including justice, happiness, and the afterlife.
