Abstract

Here crystalline carbon nanofern like structure has been synthesized by direct current plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition. Acetylene was used as carbon precursor and nickel acetate dissolved in ethanol has been used as the seed for the growth of carbon structure. The nanostructure of the as prepared sample was characterized by transmission electron microscopy. X-ray photo electron spectroscopic studies confirmed the presence of nickel in the sample. Band gap has been calculated from the UV-Vis spectroscopy. I-V characteristics measured at different temperatures showed nonlinear behavior and is explained.
