Abstract

The article reports on a case of secundum atrial septal defect in a Komodo dragon. The lizard was found to have cardiomegaly on screening dorsoventral radiographs taken at two months of age. In this case, the atrial septal defect would probably have resulted in left to right shunting. It found that no reports in the literature of any congenital cardiac defects in Komodo dragons.
