Abstract

The article discusses the mycoplasma adaptation to adverse growth conditions. The molecular genetic principles of mycoplasma adaptation to the adverse growth conditions are specified in the study. In this study, restricted biochemical capabilities of mycoplasmas that are the smallest prokaryotic organisms capable of independent reproduction, by no means, prevent their distribution in various biocenoses, persistence in higher eukaryotes, and circulation in the nature.
