Abstract

The article discusses meaning and components of training philosophy. Topics covered include its referral to a holistic training strategy that considers the basic questions of what, how and why to enhance athletic performance, and its difference from coaching philosophy which refers to a coach's thinking and actions as a leader and mentor. Also noted are coaches' training philosophies that balance training stimulus and principles with recovery protocols.
