Abstract

The article offers information on the significance of the Patient blood management programs supported by practitioners of transfusion medicine in the states of the U.S. It informs that these programs create liberal transfusion strategies for promoting transfusion therapy and use of randomized controlled trials. Topics discussed include the Alliance of Blood Operators, Risk-based Decision Making Project and health care spending in the U.S.
