Abstract: The article offers information on the safety of particle radiotherapy in patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs). Topics discussed include the risk of CIED malfunctions due to secondary neutrons and electromagnetic interference; the variability of malfunction rates based on particle therapy type and device manufacturer; and the minimal adverse effects reported with appropriate monitoring.
