Abstract

The study examined the relationship between nutritional assessment tools and hospitalization in Chinese patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis. The findings indicated that malnutrition and activities of daily living were significant factors in hospitalization rates. The fat tissue index (FTI) was identified as the best predictor of primary-cause hospitalization, with a cutoff value of ≥11.45 kg/m2. The study also highlighted the importance of addressing malnutrition and enhancing activities of daily living to potentially reduce hospital stays in this patient population.
