Title

Evaluating the effectiveness of problem-oriented policing.

Authors

Scott, Michael S.

Abstract

The author comments on a study of problem-oriented policing (POP) by David Weisburd and colleagues. He says that the Weisburd study of POP is equally ambitious and important, given the ambitiousness of the POP proposal by Herman Goldstein. He mentions that the study's conclusion indicates the efficacy of POP in reducing crime and disorder. He also reflects on the findings of other studies on POP.
