Title

Mifepristone and Misoprostol for the management of placenta accreta – a new alternative approach.

Authors

Morgan, M.; Atalla, R.

Abstract

The article presents case studies of two pregnant women, who were infected with placenta accreta after vaginal delivery. The women were treated with oxytocics and have undergone an unsuccessful manual removal of the placenta through piecemeal. They were given Mifepristone and oral Misoprostol, which have expelled the placenta. A subsequent ultrasound scan has shown an empty uterus after the treatment.
