Intraorbital inflammation was detected in 11 cases, while pterygopalatine fossa-infratemporal fossa affection was found in 29 cases, sphenoid bone affection (pterygoid base sphenoid base) were found in 4 cases, palate involvement was present in 6 cases, zygomatic bone affection was present in 1 case and external skin affection was detected in 4 cases (Figure 2). Patients with intracranial involvement were excluded from this study due to different management protocol (either medical or surgical concern), active (seropositive) Covid-19 patients were excluded because severe lung affection during active viral infection was the leading factor in prognosis and mortality rather than AIFS affection. Also, comparative studies between MRI-based surgeries in management of AIFS in Covid versus other immunocompromised state are needed to popularise the result over AIFS disease.
