Abstract

Systemic options should be considered if topical treatment is unsuccessful.5 Most LP variants show spontaneous resolution within 6-12 months.6 In our patient, the skin lesions and pruritus rapidly resolved with prednicarbate cream applied twice a day for 4 months in total. (c) Lichen planus may be associated with systemic viral infections, such as hepatitis C. (d) Lichen planus is a B-cell-mediated autoimmune disorder. Annular lichen planus is a rare clinical variant of the lichen planus presenting with round-oval, red to brown macules and plaques with no central atrophy and slightly raised, nonscaly borders.
