Abstract

The article discusses a case of successful hemoperfusion treatment in a 28-year-old female patient who intentionally ingested a lethal dose of phenobarbitone. Phenobarbitone overdosage can lead to severe symptoms, including respiratory and cardiovascular depression. Hemoperfusion was used to aid in the rapid clearance of the drug, resulting in the patient's substantial recovery. The article highlights the importance of considering hemoperfusion as a first-line therapy in patients with phenobarbitone poisoning who are in a comatose state.
