Abstract

The article offers information on research on the definition of falls and the trauma associated with fall injuries. Topics include the types of injuries occuring due to a fall including hip and head injuries and rib fractures, the instruments for fall risk screening and assessment, and results of The Prevention of Falls in the Elderly Trial (PROFET).
