Abstract

The article focuses on uterine transplantation as an effective infertility treatment. It is noted that absolute uterine factor infertility (AUFI) remained the only untreatable, major infertility subgroup after the medical breakthroughs of in vitro fertilization and intracytoplasmic sperm injection. It is stated that as an alternative treatment to surrogacy, patients with AUFI should in the future be offered UTx.
