Abstract

The article discusses the uterine transplantation as an effective infertility treatment. It is noted that absolute uterine factor infertility (AUFI) remained the only untreatable, major infertility subgroup after the medical breakthroughs of in vitro fertilization and intracytoplasmic sperm injection. It is stated that the main indication for UTx, remains comparatively low relative to a number of life-threatening conditions for which there may not be treatment alternatives.
