- Abstract
The article discusses the risk factors associated with the development of Stevens-Johnson syndrome/toxic epidermal necrolysis (SJS/TEN) following drug administration. SJS and TEN are rare severe cutaneous adverse reactions primarily caused by medications, with common culprits being antibiotics and antiepileptics. The study conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to identify risk factors for SJS/TEN development, highlighting male gender and HIV infection as significant risk factors. The review emphasizes the need for further large-scale studies to better understand and prevent the occurrence of SJS/TEN.
