Abstract

The article discusses various reports published within the issue which provide in-depth descriptions and future outlooks in various area of histone research. Polyubiquitination of proteins is a death signal as it triggers protein degradation by the proteasome. Acetylation is considered the best-characterized histone modification playing vital roles in chromatin assembly and control of DNA-templated events.
