Sugar has become infested with political bacteria in the U.S., as has been vindicated by the battle of the sugar bowl. The article discusses the essence and reaction of the new sugar legislation, which started havoc in the U.S. In terms of pressure politics, the cane sugar interests resulting from this legislation did not figure until the beet interests pointed the way. Beet sugar interests are organized in three major groups, the United States Beet Sugar Association, the National Beet Growers' Association, and the Farmers' & Manufacturers' Beet Sugar Association. The article sketches movements and endeavors carried out by these organizations to protest for sugar interests, and their struggle for sugar quota that had been annulled by the U.S. government at the backdrop of the sugar crisis in the country. The author believes that the gloom spelt would not be withdrawn until an unbiased analysis is deployed to answer questions projected by this crisis.
