PROSPECTIVE ELEMENTARY TEACHERS' DEVELOPMENT OF FRACTION NUMBER SENSE.

Abstract

The article presents a study involving potential elementary teachers on the development of their fraction number interpretation. The study was conducted in intermediate mathematics classes, grades 5 to 8, wherein subjects took part in several mathematical exercises. Results showed that even though the subjects scored high in the pretest and posttest, additional tests revealed that their fraction number interpretation is limited.
