- Abstract
The article presents a study regarding the types of models made by students during algebraic pattern finding task. The study uses sources of data which include video footage, audio recordings of conversation, and transcripts. The study discussed how fifth grade students used concrete models to make new representations of models. Results reveal that the recursive models of the students were abandoned and transformed to explicit models, and adopted from other in time of whole class discussions.
