Title

DIFFERENT APPROACHES TO ERRORS IN CLASSROOM DISCUSSIONS: THE CASE OF ALGEBRAIC INEQUALITIES.

Authors

Schreiber, Iris; Tsamir, Pessia

Abstract

The article presents a study which examines the impact of two teaching approaches "focus on correctness" and "discuss errors" on the solutions to algebraic inequalities of the secondary students. It says that two problem-sets on rational and quadratic inequalities and a quiz were included in the study as research tool. Results show that the students who participated in the study failed to correctly solve the inequalities.
