- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the relationship between the students' mathematical discussion quality and their autonomy, competence, and relatedness determination. It explores the fulfillment of students' self-determination and their engagement in discussion to internalize mathematical concepts and frameworks. It explains how quality mathematical discussion associates with mathematics student achievement and how supportive environment influences student internalization behavior.
