ASSESSMENT OF MULTIPLICATION FACT FLUENCY.

Abstract

The article presents a study which determines the fluency of elementary students in the U.S. in basic multiplication facts as well as the application of Australian mathematics education literature in their lessons. The study is investigated through the interviews conducted by teachers that has been participated by the students from third through fifth grades. The results of the study indicate that the students used more than one strategy, even within a fact family in calculating their answers.
