Introduction: W(h)ither Ideology?

The article focuses on ideology and how it is an important factor in decision making for the ruling class. Topics include the importance of rhetoric in materialism in a postmodern cultural and political landscape, the theory of representation and how lived experiences contribute to a strengthened social reality, and the issue of class-consciousness in the formation of contextual ideology. A discussion of scholarly criticisms to material ideology, rhetorical studies, and class privilege is provided.
