Abstract

The article discusses the perception of a marital spouse to study the structure of implicit communication theories in long-term relationship for cognitive analysis of various communication systems. Explicit communication theories are the ones which study direct interaction between two individuals whereas implicit theories deal with the perceptual correlation of attributes for an individual. It is suggested that the implicit theoretical perception of one's partner is based on normative expectations of gender based self-perception. Psychological genders of married couples are determined based on implicit perceptions of spouses. The incidence of agreement was found to be at variance from usual sex-complementarity of married couples in case of psychological gender.
