Abstract

S.G. Grant, Kathy Swan, and John Lee's I Inquiry-Based Practice in Social Studies Education: Understanding the Inquiry Design Model i provides the conceptual base and critical components for designing an inquiry-focused social studies experience. Although science and social studies subject matters differ, there are three common elements of inquiry-based practice found in both, specifically within the inquiry-based social studies projects previously developed: questions, tasks, and sources (Grant et al., [4]).
