Abstract: The article compares the teenagers' use of swearing by mother (SBM) in three audio-recorded corpora including Corpus Oral de Lenguaje Adolescente de Madrid, the Bergen Corpus of London Teenage Language and the Språkkontakt och Ungdomsspråk i Norden. It discusses the differences of ritual insults, name-calling, expletive interjections and intensifiers. The study showed that SBM was more common in Spanish than English and Norwegian which might due to strong taboo on whore mother.
