Happy Anniversary.

The author reflects on the contributions of American Society of Gene Therapy (ASGT) to gene therapy perceptions and therapeutic success as it celebrates its anniversary. As the president of the ASGT, he recalls that there has been gene transfer technology maturation and success in various clinical studies. He contends that ASGT deserves an appreciation for being the steady scientific shepherd of the field of gene therapy and for being its public voice during the past decade.
