Title

Microbiome: Fungal monopoly promotes allergy.

Authors

Bordon, Yvonne

Abstract

The article cites a research study by Y. Kim and colleagues, published in the journal "Nature Reviews Immonology," which shows antibiotics can promote allergic airway inflammation. They show antibiotics do so by leading to the overgrowth of commensal fungi in the gut in mice. Mice were treated with antibiotics to induce dysbiosis in the study.
