Title

Bacterial evolution: The road to E. faecium pathogenesis.

Authors

David, Rachel

Abstract

The article discusses a study presented by Gilmore and colleagues which aims to describe the evolution of Enterococcus faecium. It shows that the study uses the genome-based analysis. It reveals that gut commensal and hospital-acquired strains has a great variation in genome sequence. It adds that genes analysis under selective pressure supports the notion that genes encoding carbohydrate transport systems were found to under positive selective pressure.
