Abstract: The article presents a study which investigates whether the host gene expression accompany initiation of symbiosis in Vibrio fischeri (V. fischeri) and Euprymna scolopes. The study involves several methods, which include the attachment of 3-5 prime V. fischeri cells to the mucociliary epitheliumm migration into the crypts, and the comparison of transcriptome of symbiotic light organs. The study reveals that molecular mechanism has led to the establishment of V. fischerisquid symbiosis.
