The article discusses the study of K. Orth, A. M. Krachler, and H. Ham regarding the role of multivalent adhesion molecule 7 (Mam7) in Gramnegative pathogens' attachment to the host. It states that based from the results of the study, Mam7 performs a key function in bacteria's initial attachment to other host cell types in the early infection stage. It adds that that Mam7's constitutive expression enables the bacterium to be in contact with the host cells.
