Title

Bacterial physiology: Bacillus does the two-step.

Authors

Molloy, Sheilagh

Abstract

The article presents two studies on the bacterial cell division and chromosome segregation cycle to control the growth of Bacillus subtilis. It cites that B. subtilis cell division has two DNA translocases with different but complementary roles at different points in division cycle. Both studies suggest that these two DNA translocases of B. subtilis is not its distinctive feature or of producing bacteria, but a well preserved trait in bacterial families.
