Title

Gene expression: Structure versus codon bias.

Authors

Neame, Elizabeth

Abstract

The article discusses research being done on the impact of messenger RNA (mRNA) structure to the production of gene expression and codon adaptation index (CAI). It references a study by G. Kudla et al published in the 2009 issue of "Science." It states that mRNA correlates with green fluorescent protein (GFP) to determine nucleotide positions. It also notes that the fast elongation of mRNA increases the rate of protein synthesis in cell.
